Night of the living dead: Tailwind reserves the right to be reborn
Bizarre.....first they say they're leaving because the state of cycling is so bad. Then they say that they might rethink this in a year and change their minds? How does that make any sense whatsoever?
Also, Bruyneel's last race as director will be at the Race of Champions in Abu Dhabi (which has a $1 million winner's prize), not at the Tour of Missouri as some had said.
From the Paceline (PJ Rabice is Disco's PR guy):
Dear PJ:
Will Tailwind Sports down the road possibly start another team when the time is right? Thanks for the ride and memories, Andrew Wright
Andrew,
I think this is certainly a possibility. The experience is there so it is a matter of, once again, assembling the right group of staff and riders. I think the door is open for this to happen. We will have to wait and see what happens over the next 12 months.
Yours,
P.J.
Hello PJ,
Now that that Discovery Channel Team has qualified for the Race Of Champions is DC planning on competing in this event and are they excited about doing so? Sincerely, Roy Alfred
Roy
Yes, we will have a time hitting the roads of Abu Dhabi in November. Its undecided which riders will compete, but I expect that Alberto will be there as the winner of the Tour de France. Johan also plans to direct this race. It will be Johan’s last race as a director, although the Tour of Missouri will be, in my opinion, his last official race.
Get outside everyone,
P.J.
